Fermato

Fermato (fermato.io) is a multi-tenant SaaS platform for hallway and classroom displays in K-12 schools. It handles the scheduling complexity that generic signage tools leave alone: A/B day rotations, lunch waves, early release days, testing overrides, and per school customization. The product models how a school day actually runs, so the scheduling logic that normally lives in administrator spreadsheets renders automatically on displays across multiple buildings.

The multi-tenant architecture is the same kind of system you build for multi-location retail. The scheduling exceptions and override logic underneath are operational analytics problems. And the founder process of finding a real workflow gap, interviewing users, shipping, and iterating is the same cycle retail analytics and L&D work depends on.

On the technical side that means React, Node, and SQLite, hosted on Railway. Outside of the code, the work has included customer discovery interviews with administrators and superintendents, multi-tenant architecture decisions that keep each school's schedule and branding fully isolated, and the operational layer of backups, monitoring, and security audits that paid customers expect. Three tenants are currently active, with an intentional pilot launching across six in-hallway displays in August 2026.
